Kids skischool in Gmünd/Gerlos
We advise you to contact the ski school by email beforehand if you or your child have an allergy, an illness, or a limitation. It is important to us that all employees are well informed about the allergy, illness, or limitation. For us to protect the members of our staff, the skischool reserves the right to deny the participant in taking part in the ski course or joining lunch because of the measures (e.g., the use of an EpiPen) that have to be taken to prevent the allergy, illness or limitation.
When it is agreed upon that your child can take part in the course, he/she must have a note on the front side of the ski school vest (plastic sack) mentioning the allergy, illness, or limitation.
Should our staff doubt the state of health of the participant, body temperature measurement for example, could be implemented. The skischool reserves the right to deny a participant from taking part in a course when he/she has a fever.
We do not allow our staff to administer any kind of medication.
To protect our employees and other guests, participants with an infectious disease are excluded from taking part in any class:
Of course, it is possible to change the group. When we notice that your son/daughter does not fit into the group, he or she can obviously change to another one. It is also possible to change your ski class for a snowboard class or vice versa, provided that a suitable group is available. Extra charges could apply. Rebooking group classes to private classes is also possible. Extra charges could also apply.
Beginner and advanced children can join a class every day of the week. Adult group classes for beginners only start on Sundays. If we have enough beginner participants, we do offer a group class starting on Mondays. Advanced and well advanced adults can join a class every day of the week from Sundays until Thursdays. There are no group classes for adults on Fridays and Saturdays.
The class times for groups (children and adults) are from 10:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:00 (lunchtimes vary, appr. 30 minutes) The instructors will join the children for lunch from 12:00 – 13:00. Only for kids that have lunch included in their ski class.
We do recommend you book the ski class on consecutive days because your group will learn new things every day. If you skip a day, you might have to switch to another group. Please consult your ski instructor. For 2 and 3 year old children, skipping a day is not a problem.
It is not possible for our instructors to change diapers during the ski class. He/she does, of course, bring your child to the nearest bathroom, helps them get undressed and dressed again and helps them cut their food.
If you book your group lessen day by day, you will pay our daily rate each time. We suggest you book a minimum of three days because our extension rate will apply after this term.
Our ski school does not rent out skis. When booking a ski class including equipment, you will get a voucher. You can exchange this form in any sport shop or at the hotel Kröller. If you want to extend the rental, you will be charged for the extra days by the rental shop.
A lot of foreign languages are spoken in our ski school: English, German, Dutch, French, Greek, Italian and Spanish (please inform in advance).
It is obligatory for all children up to 14 years old to wear a helmet during the ski class. If your child does not have a helmet, you can rent one at the sport shop.
Should your child get sick during your holiday and he/she can not participate in the ski class, please let us know. You can inform the instructor at the meeting point. A refund is only possible with a doctor´s certificate. Due to health reasons, we cannot allow participants with a contagious disease to participate in our ski classes or at the kindergarten.
If you would like your child to join us at the kindergarten at the end of a ski class, we ask you to fill out the kidspass and put it into the ski vest. Please write down a working mobile phone number.
Children who are 6 years old need a lift ticket. The younger children don't need a lift ticket. For more information about lift tickets and prices, please click HERE.
The kind of food your child will get during their ski class depends on the restaurant they will go to. Here are a few examples of dishes they could get: fries with schnitzel, sausages, fish sticks, kaiserschmarrn, spaghetti, and pizza. Most of the restaurants offer some small sweets after lunch.
The maximum number of participants per group is 12 people. In reality, our group sizes will be smaller. If necessary, there will be 2 instructors at the Bambi and Bambini groups.
The meeting point and time for your ski class will be printed on the confirmation ticket you got at our booking office. We ask you to be at the meeting point on time in order for the group to start the class at the given time. Ask your child´s instructor where you pick up your son/daughter when the class ends.
Children and adults with a mental disability are welcome to join our ski school. We do advise them to book private classes so they can get the instructor´s full attention.
We accept: cash (Euros), Maestro, V-Pay, Mastercard and Visa. It is also possible to book and pay for your classes online!
It is possible to rebook already booked lessons if the desired lesson is available. In some cases, we will charge an additional cost.

During lunchtime, our children´s groups will be spread out over the different restaurants in the skiing area. The advanced groups will have their lunch in restaurants that are further away from the meeting point and beginner groups will stay at the Arena Center restaurant or at Seppi´s. The Almhof/Kröller beginner children will ski at the slope down by the hotel, so they will have their lunch there. Ask your instructor in the morning, at the meeting point, where lunch will be that day or ask them the time and place where you can pick up your child and return it afterwards.
The ski bus is free of charge for all guests with a valid lift ticket. The nearest stop is at the Kröller Sports shop.
If your child decides to join a ski class, it is important he/she is well prepared for it. We advise you to dress your child in warm ski clothing, get them proper ski equipment (this will speed up the learning process), get them sunglasses or goggles, suntan lotion, waterproof gloves, tissues and a snow cap.
The classification of children´s group classes is generally based upon ski level and language. If your children have about the same ski level, please inform us and we will do our best to put them in the same group. If their level does not match, all of your children will be placed in the group of the child with the lowest level, so less experienced kids can follow the rest of the group.
If you´re not sure whether your child will like skiing, we suggest you book one day to start out. For 3 – 5 year old kids there is a try-out. This is a two hour ski class on Sunday or Monday so we can test if your child likes it or not.
